Revision of the SADC Forestry Strategy

The project has made significant progress towards achieving its objective of developing the capacity of SADC Member States in Forest Information Systems, Integrated Forest Fire Management, and Participatory Forest Management.

In addition to the three Project pillars mentioned above, the Project has a fourth pillar on Capacity Improvement of SADC Secretariat. As an output of the fourth pillar, SADC Secretariat reviewed the current SADC Forestry Strategy and prepared Draft SADC Forestry Strategy 2020 - 2030. It will be approved by SADC statutory structures soon.
